Turning Challenges Into Purpose: The Heart Behind Ryker’s Granola

Ryker’s Granola

Right here in our local community, a small business with a powerful mission is quietly making a big impact. Based in Gulfport and a regular vendor at the Kenwood Sunday Market, Ryker’s Granola is more than just a wholesome snack, it’s a story of resilience, inclusion and purpose.

Founded in early 2026, Ryker’s Granola was created as a meaningful employment opportunity for individuals living with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). The goal is simple but deeply intentional: to provide a supportive workplace where people can rebuild confidence, challenge their minds and work at their own pace. Tasks within the business are designed to resemble an occupational-therapy style routine, encouraging communication, independence and real-world work experience in a comfortable environment.

The inspiration behind the brand comes from Ryker himself. After a devastating skateboarding accident in 2019 left him with a severe brain injury, months of hospitalization and years of rehabilitation, finding purpose and employment became a new challenge. Rather than letting that moment define the future, Ryker and his family turned their journey into something meaningful,  starting small by making granola together at home before growing into a mission-driven business focused on opportunity and awareness.

Today, Ryker’s Granola stands for more than delicious, naturally made products. The company is built around creating meaningful jobs for people navigating life after brain injuries while also raising awareness about helmet safety and prevention. Every bag of granola represents resilience, community support and a reminder that second chances can lead to powerful new beginnings.

Looking ahead, the vision goes even further. The team hopes to expand into a multipurpose living and workspace facility where other TBI families can find connection, purpose and opportunities to grow together. It’s a dream rooted in compassion and one that reflects the heart of our local Gulfport and St. Pete communities.

We’re also excited to share that Ryker’s Granola has officially joined the In The Know St Pete Family and you’ll soon find their coupon featured in our upcoming magazine issue. Be sure to stop by their booth at the Kenwood Sunday Market, support their mission, and taste the difference a purpose driven business can make.
