Public Library Outreach: Portraiture: Learn and Create

The Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg is hosting Public Library Outreach: Portraiture: Learn and Create at James Weldon Johnson Library on Tuesday, October 27 from 4 PM to 5:30 PM.

This youth art workshop explores portraiture, one of the oldest and most recognizable genres in art history. Participants will look at a selection of portraits from the Museum of Fine Arts’ permanent collection, including generals, gods, goddesses and everyday people who helped shape history.

After learning about portraiture, attendees will create a portrait of their own. The artwork can be a self-portrait or a portrait of a friend or family member.

The workshop is free for ages 6 to 18, but registration is required.

Public Library Outreach: Portraiture: Learn and Create takes place at James Weldon Johnson Library, located at 1059 18th Avenue S in St. Petersburg.
